Plough Inn Closure

Well Folks for the Safety and well being of our nation Boris has asked us to help. Later this Evening (Friday 20th March 2020), Tracey will have the sad task of closing our Pub...... I would like to take this opportunity to thank the AMAZING team that have worked so well for so long even with their backs against the wall. I can only apologise that I myself am not there to face this with you all. I ask you all to take heed in any advice given to best this pandemic but at the same time do whatever u can safely to help anyone in Our community that might be more vulnerable than yourself, it is that that makes us who we are. For the first time in many years I will say a prayer tonight for all of you and hope that one day I will be stood behind the bar talking to you all again. Keep well my friends and THANK YOU for being the great support and community that you have always been. Chris

Village Hall Closed Temporarily

Dear All Following the issue of the Government Covid-19 guidance paper yesterday, “Community Centres, Youth Centres, and Similar” are classified as non-essential institutions - and so we must now close.  The government promises to review the situation in three weeks’ time. We have notified all customers with current bookings that these are now cancelled and hope the as many events as possible will be rescheduled as soon as we are able to open again. The booking system has been blocked out until 7th April, accordingly. As a community facility the 'exception rules' say “facilities may remain open for the purpose of hosting essential voluntary or public services, such as food banks or homeless services.” We will therefore be open for the following: 1. to allow food distribution - Holford is about to become a Kilve Stores distribution point. The shop will deliver pre- ordered goods to the hall entrance on a Saturday morning.  Parish Council volunteers will take the delivery into the main hall and sort into boxes for local delivery the same day.  Goods will not be stored overnight at the Hall. 2. to allow the Hall to be used as an emergency hospital if required (CCS have requested this).  It is already a ‘place of safety’ in the event of an emergency. You may, therefore, continue to see individuals using the hall infrequently, but please be assured these will only be persons with authority to do so and under strict instructions on hygiene. We will of course update you should anything change. Stay Home, Stay Safe! Trustees Holford and District Village Hall

Community Bus Service

Due to concerns around health & safety, and the obvious difficulties in ensuring that current Government guidelines are adhered to, the community bus service will be suspended as of the last service on Friday 27th March. The service will be under regular review during the next weeks/months, and will be reinstated once we have come through the present national emergency.
