Holford & District Village Hall

The Village hall hosts many activities ranging from Art Group to Table Tennis. It is registered as a Charity and is governed by a committee drawn from members of the village.

A Coffee Morning is held on the first Saturday of some month to help raise funds for the upkeep of the hall. The Coffee Mornings are run in turn by members of the Village Hall Committee. Apart from Tea/Coffee and cake there are stalls selling second hand books, produce and craft items.

The hall has car parking and disabled toilet facilities. Chairs, tables, cutlery, crockery and glasses are also available.

Holford & District Village Hall Receives New Kitchen from Viridor Credits

Residents of Holford and district celebrated the opening of their new kitchen thanks to funding from Viridor Cedits Environmental Company through the Landfill Comunities’ Fund.

The ceremony took place on Saturday, 3rd October at the community’s monthly coffee morning.  Esme Salvidge and Jocelyn Beaton did us the honour of cutting the ribbon.  Both have volunteered for many years ‘behind the scenes’ in the kitchen, ensuring that events run smoothly.

Mo Young, Project Coordinator, said, “ This is the first stage in the renovation of our village hall.  Our community intends to make their hall ‘Fit for the Future’ over the next few years. Village Halls play a vital facility in rurals of the population.  Our modern kitchen will make the hall a considerably more attractive venue to hold community events and activities.  The refurbished kitchen will also attract new hirers, whether for family parties or charity fundraising events.  The whole community is very grateful to Viridor Credits for funding this exciting project.  Our thanks too to local businessman Justin Jasper of Homefront Design, for masterminding the refurbishment.
