Supporting the Holford & District Village Hall

Planning Applications There are several Planning Applications submitted and can be viewed on the West Somerset Planning site (search using Holford). The sites include:- Silk Mills, Green Pastures, Land to N.W of Plough Inn, Strawberry Fields, & Plough Inn. Comments for and against can be left online.

Holford Recipe Book!

If anyone is interested, I am still looking for recipes to add to those I've already received to publish a little Holford Recipe book... anything quirky, hand me downs, favourites, any recipe you'd like to share, but please don't send me 'well known tv/media cookery people's'  recipes…. due to copyright...! Your recipe will be acknowledged, but not tested..so am relying on those you send that are reliable!! Race for Life

On Sunday 15th July, Liz Guttridge with her daughter Debbie, in memory of Tony, took part in the Cancer Research Race for Life event held in Taunton. In temperatures of 32C they both ran a 5Km circuit in just under and just over 46 minutes. A sum of just under £900 was raised for the charity with thanks going to all in the Plough Inn who generously subscribed towards that sum. Well done Liz and Debbie.
6am starts for waste collections in continuing hot weather Recycling and rubbish collections will start daily at 6am due to the high temperatures. Please ensure your bins and boxes are all out in time for the early start (and no earlier than the night before), and note that some collections times may change. The new start time will continue until cooler weather returns. To help crews get your waste collected, please: * Sort and roughly segregate materials in boxes without using carrier bags. * Rinse all containers and squash all but glass and aerosols. * Cut up all large card and flatten all cardboard boxes. Crews have been reminded to keep the noise down; apologies in advance for the sound of glass and cans. 24th July 2018

‘Help Holford Hall’

Holford & District’s refurbished and enlarged community hall is about to become a reality. But we still need your help. The Hall committee has successfully secured £565,500 in grant funding from the charitable trusts listed below. We now have sufficient funds for the main project, but will need a little more money, and some practical help, to finish off the Hall.
